Frequently Asked Questions

Banshee’s Fastpitch softball is based in Horsham, PA. We have been in existence since 1987 & have a very proud tradition of playing competitive travel softball. The Banshee’s organization is now in its 32nd consecutive season as an organization and continues to grow.

Q: Can my player play other travel sports?
A: Yes, we encourage our younger players to be well rounded athletes, however we ask that your player prioritize the commitment to the Banshee’s…the more we play & practice as a team the better the team & player will become!

Q: Can my player play Little League, “in house” or rec ball in addition to travel with the Banshee’s?
A: Yes, the more softball the better as it is important to support local organizations & maintain player friendships at the younger age groups, however we ask that your player prioritize the commitment to the Banshee’s: the more we play & practice as a team the better the team & player will become!

Q: How far does the team travel?
A: All teams will play in 8 to 10 local PONY, USSSA & ASA tourneys in PA, NJ & DE. These tourneys make up the majority of the schedule and are generally ~1hr away from Horsham, PA. The team may go to a winter tourney in Williamsport, PA and either PONY Nationals in Cary, NC or the USSSA World Series at Disney in Orlando, FL in July. These tourneys are still TBD & will be decided on by the coaches of each team.

Q: When does the team play / practice?
A: Each team will play a fall schedule that will consist of practice, scrimmages, round robins & a maybe a tourney or two. The team will have weekly team practice, batting practice & pitching/catching practice during the winter months. The spring schedule will consist of weekly practice (1/2 per week), scrimmages, round robins & 8 to 10 tourneys.

Q: What is the cost?
A: Team dues are about $500 & uniforms are about $150. These fees are often offset by team fundraising activities as in 2012/2013 every team participated in significant fundraising activities that greatly reduced costs. Each team sets dues based on teams needs and schedules.
